Description

The Fresno County Old People's Home was built in 1907 on the south side of Ventura Avenue and was in use until 1922 when the facility moved into the remodeled orphanage on Tenth Street and Ventura Avenue. This is probably the Tenth and Ventura facility. It was in use until 1957 when the land was needed for a juvenile detention facility. The elderly were then placed in a group of four buildings on the corner of Huntington Boulevard and Barton Street.
