Description
Picture of Fort Washington Elementary School, built in 1906 near the corner of Friant Road and Copper Avenue, near Clovis, Calif. Constructed in Western Stick architectural style and was demolished later. The building was a single-room schoolhouse with a bell tower topped by a flagpole. The Fort Washington District was created in 1874-1875 and merged with the Lincoln District to form the Fort Washington-Lincoln Union District in 1945, which in turn became part of the Clovis Unified School District in 1959.
