Description

Picture of Highland Elementary School, built in 1908 near the intersection of Highland and Jensen avenues, Sanger, Calif. Constructed in Western Stick architectural style by architect, A.C. Swartz, and contractor, Jacob Wiltz, but the structure was abandoned in 1949. The Highland District was created in 1902, merged with the Lone Star Union District in 1947, which in turn merged with the Sanger Union High (later, Sanger Unified) School District in 1965.
