Description

Picture of Locan Elementary School, built in 1910 and destroyed by fire in 1929. Constructed with Shingle and Neoclassical architectural elements. The structure contained three classrooms and a library. A brick schoolhouse replaced the earlier structure and was abandoned in 1949. The Locan District was created in 1909, merged with the Lone Star Union District in 1947, which in turn merged with the Sanger Unified School District in 1965.
