Description
Picture of Nees Colony Elementary School, located at the intersection of Nees and Armstrong avenues near Clovis, Calif. Western Stick architectural style. The structure shown was designed by architect A.C. Swartz to replace an earlier, one-room wooden schoolhouse. It was built in 1912, contained three classrooms and a belfry, and was demolished ca. 1960. The Nees Colony District was created in 1906, merged with the Dry Creek Union District in 1947, and was in turn incorporated into the Clovis Unified
