"Old trail along Licking River, marked ""Vise's Trail"". It leads north to Visalia, Kentucky, founded by Nathaniel's father in 1819-20. Photo was taken in October, 1995."

Matilda Jarbeau Vise married Nataniel Vise Jr., in Mayville, Kentucky, in 1833.

Nathaniel Vise, 1810 - 1888. Born in Maysville, Kentucky and married Matilda Jarbeau in Maysville in 1833. Vise is the man after whom Visalia was named. Nathainel Vise was a junior.
