Hotel Del Venado was the focal point for the social set visiting California Hot Springs circa 1900 in southeast Tulare County, CA. The community offered hot mineral springs and a restful atmosphere.
This is the cabin that John Swanson built in the late 1850s in the Kelsey's Grove area east of Visalia, CA, along the side of what is now Highway 198. The cabin now is on display at the history museum located at Tulare County's Mooney Grove Park.
