An account of the resource
Picture of Wolters Elementary School, built in 1916 as Ernest J. Kump, an architect, near the intersection of Shaw Avenue and First Street, Fresno, Calif. Mission Revival architectural elements. The building was the second schoolhouse to occupy the property, and was replaced by a new campus in 1952. The Wolters District was created in 1892 and united with the Fresno Unified School District in 1959.

This was the second schoolhouse to occupy the site. The West Park District was created in 1885, united with and excluded from the Washington Union High School District in 1924, and reunited with the high school district in 1933.

Picture of Washington Colony Elementary School, located near the intersection of Lincoln and Elm avenues, Easton, Calif. Mission Revival architectural elements. This six-room structure was built by William Hopkins in 1922 at a cost of $36,000, and was the third schoolhouse to occupy the site. The structure was expanded in 1955. The Washington Colony District was formed in 1892, and simultaneously united with the Washington Union High School District.

Description
An account of the resource
Picture of Walnut Elementary School, located near the intersection of Parlier and McCall avenues, near Selma, Calif. The schoolhouse was the second to be constructed on the site, in 1913, and replaced an earlier building which was damaged by fire. Western Stick architectural elements. It featured brick veneer on its exterior, two rooms, oiled wooden floors, and was heated by a natural gas furnace. The building continued in use until 1955, when operations were shifted to the Indianola Union School, and was demolished sometime in the 1960s. The Walnut District was created in 1881, merged with the Fruitvale District to form the Indianola Union District in 1950, and later merged in turn with the Selma Unified School District in 1967.

Picture of Tranquillity Elementary School, located near the intersection of First and C streets, Tranquillity, Calif. Western Stick architectural style. The building was constructed in 1912 to replace an earlier schoolhouse that had been destroyed by fire the previous year. It was in turn replaced by a new campus complex during the late 1920s. The Tranquillity District was created in 1910 and was later merged with the Golden Plains School District.

Picture of Terry Elementary School, located near the intersection of Fowler and Mountain View avenues, near Selma, Calif. Western Stick architectural style. This schoolhouse, built in 1907 and razed ca. 1952, was the second structure of its kind to occupy the site. It consisted of four large rooms with a library and was topped by a belfry. The Terry District was created in 1882, united with the Central District to form the Terry Union District in 1945, and was merged with the Selma Unified School District in 1967.

The Teilman District was created in 1911 and merged with the Fresno Unified School District in 1931. The site later became the home of Jane Addams Elementary School.

Picture of Sunset Elementary School, located near the intersection of Lake and McKinley avenues near Kerman, Calif. The schoolhouse was built ca. 1915, with Western Stick architectural style. The Sunset District was formed in 1915 from portions of the Dakota and Kerman Districts, and merged with those districts and the Empire District to form the Sun-Empire Union District in 1952. The merged district later became part of the Kerman Unified Schools.
