The company is located at 1825 Marion Street in Kingsburg supplying cottonseed, meal and hulls. The first cotton in the Kingsburg area appeared in the early 1920s. By 1958 Fresno County produced cotton valued at over $82 million. The rapid development of the cotton industry brought the Kingsburg Cotton Oil Company to Kingsburg in 1938 taking over the abandoned California Peach and Fig Association Building. The lint from the seed is packed in bales and shipped to furniture manufacturers and other industries while the meal is compressed and sold under the firm's own brand for cattle feed.",,"1 Photographic print :b&w ;9 x 14 cm.","San Joaquin Valley Library System","ca 1947","Fresno County Public Library","This image is being made available for educational and research purposes only, under the ""fair use"" clause of the U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S.C.)
