Description
Holiday street scene of 1920's Fulton Street looking north from the corner of Fulton and Kern streets. The J.C. Penney store seen in the left foreground on the corner of Fulton and Kern. Beyond the J.C. Penney store is the five story Radin & Kamp Department store under construction, on the corner of Fulton and Tulare streets. Radin & Kamp Dept. was established by Henry Radin and Aaron Kamp, young entrepreneurs from San Francisco, who moved to Fresno in the mid 1880s and opened their stores. The store pictured here was their last store and the first one in Fresno to have elevators. The building was sold in 1935 to the Bank of America. The J.C. Penney store later leased this building when Radin & Kamp went out of business after the Great Depression.
