Description

Picture of Duke Elementary school, built in 1884-1885 near the intersection of Clovis and Clarkson avenues, Laton, Calif. Constructed in Western Stick architectural style but demolished later. The Duke District was created in 1877, eventually became the Conejo District in 1927, and was merged with the Laton Joint Union High School (now Laton Unified School) District in 1963.
