Description

Picture of Dry Creek Elementary school, constructed in the 1920s in Academy, Calif. The building was moved ca. 1947 to the Nees Colony School campus, on the corner of Nees and Armstrong avenues, and was later moved back to a location on Madsen Avenue in Academy. This building was the successor to the Dry Creek Academy, initially a private school constructed in 1872 and razed in 1920. The Dry Creek School District was formed in 1866, united with Nees Colony District to form the Dry Creek Union District in 1947, and merged with the Clovis Unified School District in 1959.
