Description

Colonel Thomas Baker was the first lieutenant governor of the state of Iowa. When he moved to Tulare County, CA, he was appointed a county judge in 1853, and was elected later in 1853, and in 1854 and 1856. He became a state senator about 1860, representing the counties of Tulare, Kern and Inyo9. He died in 1872.
