This is the dynamited express car of the northbound Southern Pacific train that was robbed at Cross Creek, Tulare County, CA, on March 22, 1898. It became apparent that it was not a professional job, but instead had been performed by local citizens of Traver, CA. About $80,000 in gold was stolen
