Hobbs & Parsons, established in April 1888, as a retail business soon moving into wholesale. In 1892 they ventured into the dried fruit trade. The fruit and raisin pack is sent out under the brand, "Union Packing Co." the business being jointly conducted with Porter Bros of San Francisco. The company has also established a "Jack Rabbit."
